About

In 1968 I began coaching youth hockey and teaching ice skating technique. While working in high-tech, I continued to coach and developed strength training programs for hockey players and others.

I started swimming in 1982 while rehabbing a broken back. A couple of years later I did my first sprint triathlon, and shortly after that I began teaching and coaching swimmers and triathletes in my spare time.

Since retiring from high-tech in 2007, I’ve been coaching a college triathlon club and an assortment of mostly endurance athletes.

More recently I’ve developed an interest in fitness training for senior citizens, heart attack survivors, and Parkinson’s Disease patients. And I’ve always loved teaching younger children to swim!

I’m using these pages to collect information about swimming, open-water swimming, running, movement, strength training, paddling and whatever else might be of interest to the athletes I’m coaching, or others.
